Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: Indian

  • All the candidates possessing the nationality of Bhutan and Nepal can apply for the GD in the Indian Army.
  • The Tibetan refugee who are settled permanently in India before January 1, 2023, are also eligible to apply
  • The candidates who have migrated from Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Uganda, Pakistan, Kenya, Burma the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zaire and Ethiopia, and Vietnam and are permanently settled in the country India can also apply to join the Indian Army.
  •  The candidates who are not from India originally must have a certificate of nationality issued by the Government of India. The aspirants belonging to Nepal or Gorkha are exempted from this and they are not necessarily required to have a nationality certificate.

Age Limit

The required age limit for Army GD recruitment is 17.5 years to 23 years. The official notification regarding the date of birth is released by the recruitment body. The age of the candidate should fall between these dates of birth.

Educational Qualification

  • The candidates must have at least a minimum educational qualification of 10th or matriculation passed with an aggregate of 45% and 33% in all the respective subjects from a recognized board.
  • The best of the 5 subjects is taken into consideration and an individual must have at least a minimum score of 33 marks out of 100 marks in each subject and a total of 45% in all.

Marital Status

The marital status of the candidate should be Unmarried or single to meet the eligibility criteria of this recruitment of Indian Army.

Physical Requirements

The Indian Army needs fit candidates to fulfill the necessity of their duty. Therefore, there is a certain measurement set by the Army for the physical requirement of the candidates as mentioned below:

General Science – Human Body (Food and nutrition, disease and prevention, vitamins and their uses), Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Name of diseases and terms used in medical science, Scientific Terms.

Mathematics – Arithmetic (Unitary method, time, work and distance, simple interest, numbers, HCF, LCF, Decimal, fraction, square roots, percentage, average, ratio and proportion, partnership, profit, and loss.), Algebra (Basic operations and factorization, HCF and LCM, quadratic equations), Geometry (Lines and angles, triangles, quadrilaterals, and parallelograms and circles), Mensuration (Area and perimeters of squares, rectangles, parallelograms and circles, volume and surface area of cube, cuboids, cone, cylinders, and sphere)
